Dogs have a natural instinct to chew, but many traditional chew toys are made from extremely hard synthetic materials like nylon that can be tough on teeth and rely on petroleum-based plastics.
BetterBone offers a different approach by using plant-derived materials to create a durable chew that satisfies dogs’ natural chewing instincts while avoiding many of the synthetic ingredients commonly found in conventional dog chew toys.
The material is made using PEFC-certified sustainably forested wood flour and renewable sugarcane oil, creating a plant-based chew designed to gradually wear down instead of splintering during chewing. The textured surface also helps stimulate gums and support dental health.
The Soft BetterBone is designed specifically for puppies, senior dogs, and gentle chewers who still enjoy chewing but need a material that’s easier on their teeth.

I ordered the Better Bone for our adopted Westie last year and she loves her bone. She chews on it almost every day but I think it will last her for quite some time. I’m happy that she can no longer injure her gums as she did with the nylon bones.

My puppy was ingesting parts of her nylon teething toy so I went looking for a safer alternative. I got one for her and one for my senior dog and they both love them. I especially like that I am able to easily hold it while my puppy chews on it which keeps her more engaged. This is now one of her favorite toys. It helps transition her to bedtime really well. I also feel much better knowing the materials are safe given that she is teething and does unfortunately swallow tiny bits occasionally (although not entire chunks like what was happening with the nylon chew toy)

After watching my puppy chip bits of plastic off his chews I knew I wanted to find something more sustainable for him to gnaw on. He LOVES his better bone and while it also chips, I know whatever he's ingesting is much better for him than shards of plastic.

I got this for my 5 month old chihuahua mix who is an aggressive chewer. He absolutely destroys any kind of chew toy we give him and I wanted to find a safer option that wouldn’t harm him if he happened to ingest any of it and this was the best answer. He loves it. He’s absolutely obsessed with it. Please never stop making these!
